Taxis
- Fares are set by zone, not a meter - always agree the price before you get in.
- Rates are typically for two passengers; extra people add a small charge.
- US dollars are fine. A dollar or two tip is appreciated.
Jitneys (local buses)
- The cheapest way around - a flat fare of about $1.25, paid in cash as you exit.
- Great for Cable Beach and along the main routes; flag them down or catch them downtown.
Water taxi to Paradise Island
- A short, scenic harbour crossing to Paradise Island (Atlantis) for a few dollars each way.
- Boats run regularly during the day from near the cruise port.
On foot
Downtown Nassau - Bay Street, the Straw Market, Junkanoo Beach, the Queen's Staircase - is very walkable from Prince George Wharf, so you may not need a ride at all.
