Where the pigs really are
The original swimming pigs live on Big Major Cay in the Exumas, roughly 80+ miles from Nassau. From a Nassau cruise port you reach them on an organised day trip - either a fast boat or a short scenic flight. Either way, plan for a full day.
What it costs & how long
- Boat day trips: often a long ride each way; great value, but check the sea conditions if you get seasick.
- Air day trips: pricier, but far less time in transit and stunning views.
- Most full-day pig excursions run from around the low hundreds per person upward, usually including other stops like sandbars, snorkeling, turtles or iguanas.
How to choose the right tour
- Compare on rating AND review count - a 4.8 with 2,000 reviews is safer than a 5.0 with 12.
- Check what's included (lunch, snorkel gear, park fees, hotel/port pickup).
- Confirm the return time works with your ship's all-aboard.
- Book ahead - the best operators sell out, especially in peak season.
